Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Tester to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through comprehensive testing methodologies. This role will involve working closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle.  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements and specifications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to identify software defects.
  • Document and track defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve identified defects.
  • Participate in requirements review and design sessions to ensure testability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
  • Provide clear and concise test reports and status updates.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Software Tester in a professional environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) are preferred.
